Is this the right color for my prom dress?

no it should look fine! it would be a different story if you were crazy pale, but light colors almost alwaaays look good when you have tanned skin! if you don't like your dress (try it on as soon as you get it) theres a pretty good chance you can return it andf still find a nicer one. that color should be find but if not i'd suggest maybe a hot pink or tealish blue? =]
