I accidentaly poked my friends eye, how worryed should i be?

There was a little blood that could be seen when you pulled the lower lid down but that was the only time that you could see any. It happend around 9am and he says it still hurts and its a little blurry i tell him not to rub it and he trys not to but no one is perfect. What can happen? I only hit the white part and there are no real visible sighns of bleeding unless you pull down the lid. Puting ice on it makes it hurt even more.
